Breitbart.com reported: In San Francisco and Oakland on Saturday, citizens brought their guns to sell to the police in return for cash. Every volunteer who returned a gun was $200 richer walking away. The line was so long in San Francisco that there was no cash left after lunchtime and I.O.U.s were substituted instead.
Oakland’s citizens gave even more guns back, including assault weapons and Ak-47s; the line of people returning guns, which was comprised of those standing and those in cars, was almost two miles long. A limit of three per person was imposed.
Oakland’s police chief, Howard Jordan, said, “When we remove guns off our streets that could be used in a crime, we reduce the possibility of our youth and community being a victim.”
There’s only one problem with this scenario: in all likelihood, it’s the law-abiding citizens returning guns. The criminals are not about to surrender theirs. All reports from the scene quote people who were highly unlikely to use their firearms for criminal activity in the first place. Read story here.
Breitbart.com also reported: In the wake of the tragic mass shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut, social networks lit up with cries for gun control. Hundreds of thousands of people descended on We the People, the White House’s official petition portal, to ask the President to take meaningful action to help stop gun violence. Today, President Obama released a video recorded especially for those who signed these petitions.
In the video, President Obama reiterates statements he made on Wednesday, including calling on Congress to ban “military style assault weapons and high capacity ammunition clips.” He also said that Vice President Joe Biden is working on drafting a “comprehensive set of serious proposals to keep our children safe, including strengthening school safety, improving mental health care and addressing a culture that too often glorifies guns and violence.” The proposals are slated to be reviewed by the President in January.
President Obama also thanked petitioners for speaking up, and asked that they continue engaging in a sustained effort to eradicate gun violence by calling members of Congress to express their concerns. Read story here.

The 2nd Amendment is about fighting Tyranny:
Don’t turn in your guns. I can guarantee you the criminals won’t. Either will the government.
