Raw Milk Freedom Fighters … Resisting FDA tyranny

The FDA’s statement said that the dangers from raw milk make it necessary for the agency to impose restrictions.

“…The health risks are clear,” the statement said. “Since 1987, there have been 143 reported outbreaks of illness – some involving miscarriages, still births, kidney failure and deaths – associated with consumption of raw milk and raw milk products. . . .”

However, a report from the Weston A. Price Foundation revealed that from 1980 to 2005 there were 10 times more illnesses from pasteurized milk than from raw milk.

That’s the preferred process by the federal government.

Recently, the fight for food freedom and local food control took the offensive in a public act of civil disobedience (see the video below). A brave group of “Raw Milk Freedom Riders” purchased raw milk, “illegally” caravanned it across state lines (interstate commerce), and distributed it in a “raw milk and cookies” rally—right on the front lawn of the FDA headquarters!

Another event was organized by the Farm Food Freedom Coalition
The distribution there was in violation of the federal law that prevents people from moving raw milk across state lines for delivery to others, and the rally participants were met by officers from the Department of Homeland Security and others.

Raw Milk Freedom Riders – The Revolution Will Not Be Pasteurized

The Farm-to-Consumer Legal Defense Fund (FTCLDF), an organization whose mission includes “defending the rights and broadening the freedoms of family farms and protecting consumer access to raw milk and nutrient dense foods”, recently filed a lawsuit against the FDA for its ban on interstate sales of raw milk. The suit alleges that such a restriction is a direct violation of the United States Constitution. Nevertheless, the suit led to a surprisingly cold response from the FDA about its views on food freedom(and freedoms in general).

The reason the freedom to drink raw milk is important is because its a “gateway drug” for the FDA, and results of similar legislation, a bit ahead of us in taking away freedoms results in this:

The God-given human right to freely cultivate food is under attack in New Zealand (NZ) as special interest groups and others are currently attempting to push a “food security” bill through the nation’s parliament that will strip individuals of their right to grow food, save seeds, and even share the fruits of their labor with friends and family members.
