FREEDOM WATCH:  Second Amendment rights advocates are fuming today over words from three Democratic state senators caught on tape after Thursday’s hearing on the upper chamber’s gun control package. The three female senators, who sound from the recording to be Sen. Loretta Weinberg, Sen. Sandy Cunningham and Sen. Linda Greenstein are heard discussing the the just closed hearing. “We needed a bill that was going to confiscate, confiscate, confiscate,” said an unknown voice. Weinberg said she had no idea who said confiscate or in what context, or if it was even a lawmaker. The next voice, which is clearly Weinberg, said, “They want to keep the guns out of the hands of the bad guys, but they don’t have any regulations to do it.” Next up was Cunningham: “They don’t care about the bad guys. All they want to do is have their little guns and do whatever they want with them.” Then Greenstein: “That’s the line they’ve developed.” Scott Bach, executive director of the Association of New Jersey Rifle and Pistol Clubs, said the comments are indicative of an extremist mentality. ”We’re outraged by this,” Bach said.  ”These are the words of gun ban extremists and unfortunately they have the ear of the senate president right now. The bill package that is coming up Monday in the full senate needs to be held.” Reached Friday, Weinberg took issue with the gun advocates and the release of the hot mic recording. ”The advocates would be much better off not inflaming people,” she said.  ”Nothing in this package of bills ‘confiscates.’ If people want to inflame folks rather than advocating on the reality of the situation, I can’t do anything about it.” Asked who used the words “confiscate” on the recording, Weinberg said she has no idea.  It could have been a staffer, she said, adding that she has no idea what microphone was still on or who it would have picked up in addition to the three senators. ”All I know is it’s not my voice and I don’t know who said it or in what context.” Calls to Greenstein and Cunningham were not immediately returned.

Tying Women To Bed, Forcing Abortions On Them, Dead Babies In Jars, And The ‘Special Room’ For The White Women

(WEASEL ZIPPERS) - In a case that has already spawned so much horror, the Gosnell case is one where the more you look the more you see. And then wish you hadn’t.

In addition to the killing of babies, in and out of the womb, by essentially beheading them with scissor snips through their vertebrae, Gosnell kept jars of dead babies and baby parts strewn around the office. Women were treated with unsterile instruments and by people who were not medical professionals.

At least two women appear to have died from this negligence and by some estimates from workers at the “clinic”, over 100 babies (yes, they were already born) were killed in this manner.

The above documentary, “3801 Lancaster”, uploaded in January 2013,  notes much of this. It also adds the chilling testimony of those concerned. The woman who was raped, and became pregnant, who went to the clinic for an abortion but heard the heart beat of her child and decided not to go through with it on the table. Gosnell hit her in the legs, had her tied to the bed, gave her more drugs and proceeded with the abortion anyway. Now, the woman no longer can have any children.

When this case first broke in media, many on the left refused to look at it. Many still refuse to cover it,  not able to deal with what facing it might mean. Foolish Reporter does a good synopsis on this mentality here.

Gosnell’s defense attorney even went so far as to refer to the prosecution of Gosnell as “” because he was black and “serving” a poor population.

Yet, as the documentary notes, the district attorney in testimony on the matter notes that in the Gosnell clinic white women were given the “special room” that was just a little bit better than that for the people of color. Why? Because according to Gosnell, that was just the way of things in life. Also he thought the white women more likely to complain about problems. Unbelievable.

The latest account is from Ashley Baldwin who did ultrasounds, administered intravenous medicine and, ultimately, assisting in abortions performed by Gosnell. Ashley had no medical license. She also was a 15 year old high school sophomore at the time.

Over and over again, incidents would occur, and yet the State Department  of Health did nothing, they had not even had someone on site since 1993. Why?

Some in the documentary thought it might be because of the lack of concern about the people of color. That may well be part of it.  But as Foolish Reporter notes, it’s also because of the habit of looking away when it comes to abortion.

The petition, which was posted on March 19 and created on behalf of the Romeike family, has garnered over 104,000 signatures as of Wednesday morning.

“The Romeikes, a homeschooling family represented by HSLDA, were granted asylum in 2010 because Germany persecutes homeschoolers with fines, criminal prosecution, and forcible removal of children from their families,” reads the petition.

Everyone who believes gun control is a good idea needs to watch this, now. Just listen so you can make an informed choice.

When I was a child growing up in North Miami Beach, Fla. we would watch as Cuban refugees would float ashore on handmade rafts made of wood and plastic bottles. They were running from Castro.. he murdered, stole and made peoples lives nightmares. So, they came here. They came on their freedom rafts made of trash and their furniture, tied together with rope and belts and whatever they could find.  Babies, moms, dads, children and grandparents risking their precious lives to live one in peace, here in America.

The joy on their faces when their feet met the sand was unmistakable, and remarkable to witness. Their faces expressed the joy of people who had made it. People who risked everything for some freedom. They no longer had to be beaten, raped and treated as animals. They cried, they laughed, they hugged each other.  They would wave to us and jump up and down on the sand cheering. They had nothing material, but they had freedom! In their eyes, they had everything. I will never forget their faces. Ever.

Do we really want to give away our freedom and no longer be the safe haven for those being persecuted? Do we want to become the persecuted?  We don’t have to. We can learn from people who have already suffered from the gun grabbers. We don’t have to lose our second amendment rights – the right that allows us the force to protect every single other.

The National Right to Life Committee commissioned a nationwide survey from the Polling Company, a firm that conducted a survey February 28-March 3 with 1,000 respondents and a 3.1% margin of error.

The poll found 47 percent of Americans identify themselves as pro-life while 49 percent say they “pro-choice” on abortions. But when respondents are asked to identify exactly where they stand on abortion, using a list of six different positions, those two labels are shown as not representative of where Americans really stand on abortion.

Most Americans oppose abortion for most reasons, the Polling Company survey found:

Abortion should be prohibited in all circumstances: 11%
Abortion should be legal only to save the life of the mother: 14%
Abortion should be legal only to save the life of the mother, or in cases of rape or incest: 28%

Abortion should be legal for any reason but not after the first three months of pregnancy: 20%
Abortion should be legal for any reason but not after the first 6 months of pregnancy:
Abortion should be legal for any reason at any time during a woman’s pregnancy: 12%

They oppose babies who are born during botched abortions being taken to the hospital by ambulance.

Florida legislators considering a bill to require abortionists to provide medical care to an infant who survives an abortion were shocked during a committee hearing this week when a Planned Parenthood official endorsed a right to post-birth abortion.

Yahoo News: When the Senate passed a budget resolution Wednesday, the Continuing Resolution included several food- and agriculture-related earmarks.

But one inclusion in particular is especially controversial. The “biotech rider” would require the USDA to approve the harvest and sale of crops from genetically modified seed even if a court has ruled the environmental studies on the crop were inadequate. This aspect of the bill infuriated many sustainable food and agriculture groups, who nicknamed the bill the “Monsanto Protection Act.”

If signed into law by President Obama, here’s what the rider would do: It will allow farmers to plant, harvest and sell genetically engineered plants even if the crops have been ruled upon unfavorably in court. A Center for Food Safety statement called the rider “an unprecedented attack on U.S. judicial review of agency actions” and “ a major violation of the separation of powers.”

But perhaps more frightening, other critics say, is that the rider threatens the health and wellbeing of the public by undermining the federal courts’ ability to protect farmers and the environment from potentially hazardous genetically engineered (GE) crops.

The rider was slipped into the bill while it sat in the Senate Appropriations Committee, chaired by Maryland Democrat Barbara Mikulski. According to the Center for Food Safety, the committee held no hearings on this controversial biotech rider and many Democrats were unaware of its presence in the larger bill.

“In this hidden backroom deal, Senator Mikulski turned her back on consumer, environmental, and farmer protection in favor of corporate welfare for biotech companies such as Monsanto,” Andrew Kimbrell, Executive Director of the Center for Food Safety, said in a statement. “This abuse of power is not the kind of leadership the public has come to expect from Senator Mikulski or the Democrat Majority in the Senate.”

Food Democracy Now is calling on concerned citizens to call Congress and petition President Obama to remove Section 735 from the Continuing Resolution bill.

More than 100 of the nation’s top organizations and businesses have come out against this section of the bill, including the National Farmers Union, American Civil Liberties Union, Sierra Club, Environmental Working Group, Stonyfield Farm, Nature’s Path, Consumers Union, National Sustainable Agriculture Coalition, and Public Citizen.

ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) — A hike in New York’s minimum wage is a big win for Democrats, but a provision buried inside the tentative state budget shows taxpayers will be paying much of the bill.

The “minimum wage reimbursement credit” is spelled out at the bottom of a revenue bill in the budget separate from the minimum wage measure. The credit would reimburse employers for part of the difference in wages from the current $7.25 minimum wage as it rises to $9 an hour by 2016.

Once it reaches $9 an hour, employers would pay 40 cents and taxpayers $1.35 of the extra $1.75 an hour workers are paid.

Employers including big-box department stores and fast-food chains will get tax credits for seasonal employees, ages 16 to 19, who are still in school, which some advocates for low-income residents say will hurt adult workers.

The cost of the measure approved in closed-door negotiations between Gov. Andrew Cuomo and legislative leaders won’t be known publicly until after the budget gets final legislative approval, which is expected by the end of this week. Early estimates are between $20 million and $40 million, with no cap on the total.

“You are kind of flying blind on this,” said Frank Mauro of the progressive Fiscal Policy Institute.

Advocates for the working poor fear the credit will prompt employers to replace adults with students. Mauro said Tuesday the credit also would result in the first maximum wage for many employees because employers would lose the credit if they raise wages over the minimum wage.

The credit “flies in the face of sound tax policy, good labor market practice, or common sense,” Mauro said.
