Michael Taylor, MONSANTO’S VICE PRESIDENT, was just appointed senior advisor to the commissioner of the FDA. This is the same man that was in charge of FDA policy when GMO’s were allowed into the US food supply without undergoing a single test to determine their safety. He “had been Monsanto’s attorney before becoming policy chief at the FDA [and then] he became Monsanto’s Vice President and chief lobbyist. This month [he] became the senior advisor to the commissioner of the FDA. He is now America’s food safety czar. This is no joke.”

When FDA scientists were asked to weigh in on what was to become the most radical and potentially dangerous change in our food supply — the introduction of genetically modified (GM) foods — secret documents now reveal that the experts were very concerned. Memo after memo described toxins, new diseases, nutritional deficiencies, and hard-to-detect allergens. They were adamant that the technology carried “serious health hazards,” and required careful, long-term research, including human studies, before any genetically modified organisms (GMOs) could be safely released into the food supply.
But the biotech industry had rigged the game so that neither science nor scientists would stand in their way. They had placed their own man in charge of FDA policy and he wasn’t going to be swayed by feeble arguments related to food safety. No, he was going to do what corporations had done for decades to get past these types of pesky concerns. He was going to lie.

The majority of food stamp and welfare recipients are white, and the food stamp rolls increased more under President George W. Bush than Obama. But these are facts and they seldom get in the way of stereotypes. There is absolutely no danger that the press and much of the public will tar former President Bush with the label “the food stamp president.”
According the the U.S. census, the majority of the population is white! So it would make sense that white people would have larger numbers of food stamp and welfare assistance than other groups. So what’s your point? I am sure George Bush can blame the democratic president who came before him – Clinton – like Obama blames Bush at every turn. What else is it going to take for people to wise up about this guy? Or, is it just that some people can’t admit their own mistakes? Monsanto is a huge conglomerate that is poisoning our country and our food. It is a fascist organization and our president is in bed with them. Obama knowing the background of Monsanto and still hired him in this position just lost my vote for his next campaign for Presidency.
FDA is already corrupt, refusing to support organic foods, refusing to support natural substances such as herbs. Creating additives to make food last longer and taste better but increasing the risk of illness and disease. No wonder people are getting fatter and overweight.
What is next germ warfare? is that what GMO is about?

When will any government be actually interested in educating the people who live in the country the represent with accurate food and nutrition info? I guess never as the people who live there cannot line their pockets they way the food industry can…..
Sad but life…. those who seek their own education on nutrition have a hope, those that do not, are usually very malnourished.
I don’t know if NOT voting for Obama is a solution. It is not a good situation – do you think the republicans – any of those running for office – are going to stand on this issue any closer to the truth on GMO’S? That would be a hallucination! The best is to enlighten him and join protests – they do get through to him at times!

The FDA position is tasked with being in charge of proper labeling to protect the consumer, and in it he has done exactly the opposite. The only way you can tell
if the corn you are buying is genetically modified is by the plu code, our corn flakes are now made up of mostly genetically modified corn, grown by Monsanto, using Roundup. The studies that were shown on the gmo corn only went to 6 months, the massive tumors that result occur afer 12 months, however. Millions of kids eat corn flakes daily, thanks alot obama.
